Hang on kids, I’ve stumbled onto another candidate for the mark of the beast. With so many conspiracy theories surrounding the number 666 circulating on the internet, is it any wonder that the World Wide Web itself might be considered the mark of the beast?

Here’s a handy graphic for you that I found on a Fundagelical website.

Hebrew uses letters for numbers so the sixth letter is Vav which can be either a V or a W. So working backward, WWW or Wav, Wav, Wav, equals 666.

Yeppers, all those URLs starting with WWW are using 666!

Let’s have a moment of quiet panic.

Let’s ask the Magic 8 Ball if the World Wide Web is the mark of the beast? . . . hmmm… “Outlook not so good.”

Here are a few reasons why:

Checking my King James Bible, “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man, and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (Rev. 13:18)

The Mark of the Beast represents the name of a man. The World Wide Web is not the name of a man.

The number “six hundred sixty-six” is the sum of the letters in his name. The sum of WWW is 18.

The mark of the beast is supposed to go on the right hand or forehead; a URL is not the right hand or forehead.

This is just another example of creating “proof” out of nothing. Fundagelicals love conspiracy theories that include witches, demons, the Illuminati, Freemasons, gays, and the number 666. They see that number everywhere. The mere possibility that a 666 might show up in some form is proof that the end is near and the anti-Christ is at the door now.

By the way, if you want to check your own name for a 666 connection, to see if you are the anti-Christ, there is a website for that. Click Here.

“The Rogue Fundagelical” came out to 678. Sorry folks it’s not me.

Remember the Rogue fundagelical always drinks monster. Coincidence?
