One News Now, a Fundagelical website that is on constant outrage alert, reports that “Far-left faculty members at Kansas University appear to be the latest Lefties triggered by a chicken sandwich with a side of waffle fries.” The University of Kansas recently received letters from the Sexuality & Gender Diversity Faculty and Staff Council complaining about the presence of Chick-Fil-A on campus. The letter was a protest to administration accusing University leadership of caring more about “money and corporate sponsorship” than the “physical, emotional, and mental well-being of marginalized and LGBTQ people.”

Understand this was simply a protest letter. No action was taken. However, One News Now is crying foul. Autumn Leva of Family Policy Alliance, the policy arm of Focus on the Family, is quoted in the article as saying this is an incident of hatred directed at Chick-Fil-A.

Protesting something isn’t an act of hatred. It is an act of disagreement. I can disagree with you and not hate you. There are a lot of people who believe the earth is flat. I disagree; I’ll even argue the point; I would definitely protest the implementation of a flat earth curriculum in the schools, none of that means I hate flat earthers.

Here’s where the real hypocrisy comes in, Leva continues down a twisted Fundagelical path of wrong thinking by saying, “The bigger issue, she says, is over freedom: the right to publicly state our own beliefs and values without being punished for them.” Here Leva shows off the faux persecution complex so common among Fundagelicals. She says that criticism and protest are punishment. Liberals hate Chick-Fil-A because of the founder’s marriage stance so by disagreeing, they are punishing Chick-Fil-A.

If that is true, then Fundagelicals are very hateful people. If it is true, then Fundagelicals love to punish other people they disagree with. Fundagelical groups like the National Organization for Marriage and One Million Moms have not only criticized but called for boycotts or Starbucks, General Mills, Disneyland, and a host of other companies because of their policies.

There’s the hypocrisy, when Fundagelicals do it they are loving and speaking the truth, when Liberals do it you they are hateful and punishing Fundagelicals.

So for One News Now, calling the faculty of Kansas U a group of triggered lefties is just truth, but calling out Chick-Fil-A for their political stance is discrimination. Sorry, Chick-Fil-A you weren’t discriminated against; you were criticized. Stop playing martyr. It’s called discussion and discourse.
