Franklin Graham has sold his soul slowly one piece at a time. In order to score political influence, he has embraced the Kingdom of this world. Recently, Joe Biden, a life-long Catholic, was denied communion by a South Carolina priest at a Catholic Church. The reason given was that Biden supported abortion. The priest decided to deny the grace freely offered by Jesus to Biden.

Here is what Graham wrote on Facebook. “Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden was denied communion by a priest in South Carolina over the weekend because of his pro-abortion stance. I applaud the fact that this priest did what he thought was right at the risk of possible public or political ire. I wish more churches, pastors, and priests would take a strong stand against abortion. Sometimes the role of addressing hard truths has been set aside in the church today in an attempt to accommodate culture, demonstrate tolerance, or even abide by political correctness. No matter how society paints the lie, abortion is murder in the eyes of God, our Creator, and Lord.”(Matthew 23:1-6)
Graham applauded the denial of communion. As I wrote in my previous article, no one earns a place at the communion table to receive the Eucharist, it is given freely through the grace of Jesus, and he bids us to come to the table. Graham is now acting like the worldly Pharisees who have an outward appearance of piety, but inwardly they are dead inside. Being in agreement with any church’s doctrine has never been a condition set by Jesus to receive grace.

Graham has decided he will set forward a “test” of orthodoxy to provide service. You know the test of orthodoxy Jesus never established. In fact, Jesus taught, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues.” Graham has laid the burden of the Fundagelicals’ so-called “pro-life” dog whistle on Biden. Yet, Graham has not lifted a finger to remove the burden of caring for the children who are born.

Republicans, Fundamentalist, and Evangelicals are not pro-life, they are pro-birth. They care nothing for the born but prefer to “serve” those who are unborn. The unborn makes no demands on a person. You don’t have to be their keeper, their neighbor, or to serve them. Once a fetus is born, then Republicans and Fundagelicals like Graham will deny the newborn child basic medical care, education, food, and any assistance it needs to live even at poverty levels. You see, children make demands on us. They are the least of these we are to take care of. Graham has actively fought against any care to impoverished children in this country calling it “socialism.”

Graham was made famous for running Samaritan’s Purse for his famous father. That charity has done much good for children outside this country. Perhaps if Franklin could summon up 1/10th the compassion his father had for people, he wouldn’t be serving the anti-Christ of this world to gain a little political influence.
So, Graham not only denies the care Jesus commands us to provide to one another, he applauds and recommends we stop serving the very symbol of Jesus’ grace to those he disagrees with. So much for loving your enemy. American Evangelicals like Franklin Graham have ceased to be anything like Jesus of Nazareth. They seek worldly power and influence and practice the political dirty tricks of this world rather than the love of God’s Kingdom.
Hey Franklin, Jesus would have given Joe Biden communion, and he would have scolded you for suggesting he didn’t deserve it. None of us deserve it. After the scolding, He would serve you too. See how that grace thing works?
