If asked to picture an evil person, people might picture Hitler, Pol Pot, or Stalin. Some might picture serial killers like Ted Bundy or John Wayne Gacy. A few people might picture one of the killers responsible for the recent mass shootings. However, most people wouldn’t picture a U.S. Representative, medical doctor, veterinarian, and member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Since I’m not most people, I see Ralph Lee Abraham Jr as evil. He’s a U.S. representative from Louisiana and is running for Governor for Louisiana in 2019. Why is he evil?

The Washington Post  published an article about Abraham’s pharmacy business. It was revealed that between 2006 and 2012, two of Abraham’s pharmacies fulfilled prescriptions for 1,478,236 doses of opioid drugs. In a six-year period, two pharmacies, only 12.5 miles apart, serving two communities with a total population of approximately 6,000 people, gave out 1,478,236 doses of opioid drugs.

The opioid drug crisis is big news. The Sackler family, the family behind Purdue Pharma the makers of Oxycontin, are embroiled in a lawsuit that will cost them $3 Billion. Doctors, drug manufacturers, and lawmakers have been colluding to sell opioids and create a drug-addicted population. The reason why? Money.

Yep, there it is again, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (1 Timothy 6:10) Pharmaceutical companies have earned billions, doctors have received kickbacks to prescribed opioids, and lawmakers have prevented legislation for legalizing non-addictive medical treatments like marijuana. Why? Money. Profit.

U.S. Representative Abraham has made a nice little profit selling opioids. His pharmacies sold 1,478,236 doses to a population of about 6,000. That’s 35 doses per year to every man, woman, and child. As a doctor shouldn’t he know that’s a bit much? As a person with common sense shouldn’t he know it isn’t being divvied up as 35 doses per person? As a doctor with common sense shouldn’t he know his pharmacies are making money supporting prescription drug addicts?

Here is what really bothers me; this guy is a “pro-life” Republican. I guess he wants the babies to be born so he can sell them opioids! How can you call yourself pro-life if you are selling them a lifestyle of addiction? This is plain and simple hypocrisy!

Let’s not forget what Jesus actually taught in Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Abraham loves money and is willing to enslave people to addiction to earn money. he isn’t serving God or country; he serves Mammon and self.
