One thing you can say about the propheteers who pimp rapture dates, they never let all their false predictions get in the way of selling products. Hal Lindsey, Ronald Wieland, Harold Camping, John Hagee, Mark Blitz, and Jonathon Cahn keep producing new books and DVDs that practice the “Jesus is coming soon, any day now, all the prophetic signs are aligning, better buy my book and DVD combo pack” scare tactics.
Jim Bakker recently was touting Jonathan Cahn’s new book The Oracle.
The Amazon page for Cahn’s new book is full of breathless questions hyping the book.
“Jonathan Cahn, author of the New York Times bestsellers The Harbinger, The Mystery of the Shemitah, The Book of Mysteries, and The Paradigm, now unveils The Oracle, in which he opens up the Jubilean mysteries and a revelation so big that it lies behind everything from the rise and fall of nations and empires (even America), to the current events of our day, to the future, to end-time prophecy, and much more.
Could an ancient prophecy and a mysterious ordinance given in a Middle Eastern desert over three thousand years ago be determining the events of our day?
Could some of the most famous people of modern history and current events be secretly linked to this mystery-even a modern president of the United States?
Could this ancient revelation pinpoint the events of our times down to the year, month, and day of their occurring?
Could a mysterious phenomenon be manifesting on the world stage on an exact timetable determined from ancient times?
Could these manifestations have altered-and now be altering-the course of world events?”
There seems to be a question missing. Could it be that Jonathan Cahn is making another prediction that is going to be equally as wrong as all his previous ones?
Bakker, of course, wants to pimp this book because he is selling prepper doomsday supplies. His show is mostly a commercial to buy all the end time prepper products. Including, are you ready, a silver cream that will cure all venereal diseases.
By the way, dosing yourself with silver was an all-purpose antibacterial first used in 1890 and discontinued after the invention of antibiotics. One possible side effect of using silver is argyria when your skin turns blue. Behold Paul Karason a true believer of silver’s antibiotic ability.

Jonathan Cahn has made a career of confusing the United States with Israel. he has decided that the prophecies about Israel really apply to the U.S., Of course, he doesn’t flat out state this; he gives himself some plausible deniability by asking questions like “Is America the new Israel?” He has also decided that the Jewish calendar’s feast days are prophetic. He has written several books basing his predictions on the years of Jubilee cycle. This “revealed mystery” is strictly arbitrary and has no basis in proper Biblical interpretation.

People buy these books for several reasons; some want to be “in the know.” They want to know secret knowledge. Others are fearful of the “end times.” They want to be ready for when Jesus comes back. Cahn and Bakker pimp these books to make a profit.
When will people stop being taken in by a huckster of doomsday prepper gear and a serial date predictor? These two propheteers use fear to ratchet up anxiety and sell a product. Cahn says Jesus will come back *possibly* in the next decade. Bakker warns his audience to hurry and stock up since Jesus is coming back in the next decade. Ten years is a lot of time to sell several editions of The Omen, the New Revised Omen, and The New Updated Omen DVD. Ten years is a lot of time to sell silver solution so everyone can look like a smurf when Jesus comes back.
