In 1956, one of the best Sci-Fi movies ever was released. The movie was Forbidden Planet. If you’ve never watched it, then you need to pop some popcorn and spend a night catching up on your cultural competence.

Borrowing the summary from IMDB, it says, “A starship crew goes to investigate the silence of a planet’s colony only to find two survivors and a deadly secret that one of them has.” So spoiler alert here, the secret is that what is killing everyone is a monster that comes from the dark side, the id, of one of the survivors. The monster is a projection of the survivor’s own worst thoughts. Don’t get all angry if I spoiled the movie; it’s fifty-three years old. I waited long enough. (By the way, Anthony Perkins is his own mother in Psycho)

The reason I mention the movie Forbidden Planet and “Monster from the Id,” is because I’ve been reading too many Fundagelical websites lately and have noticed one conspiracy that pops up over and over again.

“Profit of hate” Tony Perkins on his Washington Watch radio program made an outlandish statement about the after-effects of the Colorado discrimination lawsuit against a baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple. When the court upheld the verdict that the baker had discriminated, Perkins said, “I’m beginning to think, are re-education camps next? When are they going to start rolling out the boxcars to start hauling off Christians?”

The Christian Anti-Defamation Commission (CADC), an organization founded and incorporated in 1999 by William Hollis, and in 2007 taken over by Gary Cass, was founded as the first line of response to anti-Christian defamation, bigotry, and discrimination. CADC sent out a petition to its members urging them to sign and voice their opposition to H.R. 256, the David Rays Hate Crime Prevention Act of 2009. In the petition they warned their members that if the act passed, the legislation will “directly threaten your freedom of speech and religion” and “Christians are going to be rounded up and tossed in prison The legislation, of course, has nothing to do with freedom of speech, it reads:

(2)        (A) Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law, in any circumstance described in subparagraph

(B), willfully causes bodily injury to any person or, through the use of fire, a firearm, or an explosive device, attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability of any person–

(i) shall be imprisoned not more than 10 years, or fined in accordance with this title, or both; and

ii) shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or fined in accordance with this title, or both, if–

(I) death results from the acts committed in violation of this paragraph; or

(II) the acts committed in violation of this paragraph include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill.

It would seem that the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission believes that not allowing them to burn, shoot, or a blow-up a person is an abridgment of their freedom of speech.

Jim Bakker, the disgraced former host of the PTL club and current hawker of doomsday prepper supplies used his prophetic gift to warn that if Trump loses in 2020 and Democrats win, “What’s coming next, if we keep losing, you’re going to see the leaders of the church and the leaders of the gospel and the political conservative leaders that are powerful, you are going to see them suddenly die, suddenly killed — suddenly as they were driving, suddenly as they were in a boat, suddenly in an airplane — you’re going to see it one after another. God spoke this to me years ago what would happen near the end, and I believe we’re in that time,This is life and death. This is the hatred of murder is in the country.”

Rick Wiles, paranoid conspiracy theorist extraordinaire, over at TruNews states that  “The homosexuals, the leftists, the socialists, the communists, the deep state in Washington, they hate [the Bible], they’re going to team up with the Muslims, you’re going to have an alliance of God-haters that are coming together to form a new Nazism in America. Right now, what we are experiencing is what the Jews experienced in the ’30s, and early ’40s in Nazi Germany, That spirit of Nazism slaughtered millions of Jews that spirit in here in America. Let me tell you something; it’s going to be different this time. The Christians are going to be rounded up.”

I often say that fear motivates people. Fundagelicals are masters of soliciting donations and moving people to political action through fear. They used the fear of hell to motivate people to say the sinner’s prayer, and they continue to use fear to keep the income flowing and advance their twisted political agendas. The one common theme in all of this is their propagation of the same lie: Christians will be rounded up and killed.

It was this strange lie popping up over and over again that made me wonder where do these purveyors of paranoia get these outlandish lies. They get them from their own dark side. These lies are monsters from their own id.

Let’s go back to Rick Wiles, not only does he claim that Christians will be rounded up but  on a recent episode of TruNews, he warned that any effort by Democrats or liberal activists to oppose President Trump’s plan to build a southern border wall would result in the military rounding them up as subversives and wiping them out.

Many pastors have called for the rounding up and death penalty for members of the LGBT community.

So, this is where their paranoid conspiracy theories and dire warnings come from; they believe that the rest of the world is as sick and twisted as they are. Fundagelicals advocate for violence, rounding up those their enemies and killing them. Is it any wonder that they believe others would do the same to them?

Fundagelicals have twisted the Bible and Christianity into a religion of hatred and violence. They project this violence onto those they label “enemies.” Whatever happened to Jesus of Nazareth? You know, God incarnate, the God who would rather suffer and die than inflict violence on His beloved creation. He’s been replaced by a Fundagelical monster from the id.

Human beings tend to reshape God in their own image. The Fundagelicals serve an angry god that is coming back to kill and destroy. They have revealed what is inside of their own hearts. My heart grieves that people who bear the name of Christ are so soul sick. I’m not afraid of Atheist, Liberals, and humanists who believe in “live and let live,” I’m afraid of my fellow Christians.
